How to reinvent myself?

Hi :) I am a 14 year old girl...well I turn 15 in early September. I have a real dilemma....everyday at school it feels like everyone is staring at me because I am overweight! I have never had a boyfriend and I am going into Grade 10 next year! I really want to feel included,noticed, and wanted I am around 195 pounds and Im looking to lose 5 pant sizes by September 1st of this year. I also want to recreate my image...if that hasn't helped already lol! I am 5"6 dirty blonde hair and green eyes. I don't want to change my hair colour or wear contacts because people will know Im a fake. I have moved for the summer with my family...so this gives me a chance to focus on me with no distractions. The one thing that woke me up is this guy that only wanted me for sex and when I told him no he insulted me saying I will never change and I will always be a fat loser! I found a quote online saying "The greatest revenge is doing something others say you cant do, so go out and do it!". This self esteem thing is also effecting my singing because last year at my school's talent show I sang well and I got in but I quit because of family reasons and I tried this year but I was so terrified of being judged by my peers I just left the room crying when my voice start shaking during the song. Someday I want to find the courage to become a famous singer. I know some say this is a hopeless dream but I know I have it in me I just need more confidence in myself! this is why I came to you...I want to lose weight, change my image, update my wardrobe, get better make up, etc. I know it seems I am doing this for others but I am doing it for me. It is effecting my dreams and ambitions because I am insecure. Im sorry I was rambling and thank you to those of you who read until the end but the sort of it is. I need new hair tips, make-up tips,various ways to lose weight without equiptment...and Im ok with not eating much cause I've already started that lol, newer more modern wardrobe because I will be thinner closer to the end of the year, and lastly even ways to flirt with a guy that makes you soooo never and tounge tied u wanna cry! LOL Well I think that covered it all so goodnight to everyone who is reading this and I hope I get some responses soon :) P.S If you could put a pin point on how much weight 5 pants sizes (Canadian sizes btw) would be to lose please let me know! Question about general fitness?

The best way to lose weight is to eat 5-6 small meals a day, but have the total calories add up to less than your basic maintainance level (2500 for a man, 2000 for a woman). Use protein as a meal base, eat less carbs. Run daily for about 30 minutes, and weight train 4 days a week, 45 minute sessions. This will make you much more toned, and you may not lose a stone (muscle weighs 2 times more than fat) but you will look much better.

Where can I learn cheerleading?

I'm really interested in recreational cheerleading, but I can't find a squad or even cheer classes for my ablility level and age. :( I'm almost seventeen, and I have never done cheerleading before. I used to do gymnastics, but all my tumbling skills are very basic (cartwheel, round-off, back-handspring with spot). I was wondering if there were any squads, teams, or even just classes I could join near southern Pennsylvannia? Thanks

STOP Being a Tomboy and START Being a LADY?

i don't know what to tell you other than ask a stylist to help you. i don't know what you look like or your personality. you could wear cute skirts (not hooker-ish), nice flowery dresses, small heeled shoes (no stilettos), soften your hair (high lights, bangs) get contacts (if you wear glasses and can afford them) light makeup (something to bring out your eyes and cheekbones) and take care of your teeth!! no gold teeth or grills (whatever they call it). teeth should be pearly whites! speak softly, until the time not to (i.e.-when someone crosses the line and just needs a good tongue lashing, lol!) be gentle and fight the urge to beat up on the boys, and you will do fine!!

How can I reinvent myself for school?

Well your issues with social skills are going to be difficult to correct. I am exactly the same way with people. Popular amongst my good friends, but when thrown into situations with new people I am the same way rather shy/awkward for similar reasons. Reason why it is going to be difficult to change is because it is a personality trait. You and I are known as Introverts, it is who we are and what we do. It is really difficult to just change. If you really are uncomfortable with it, it might be better to see a psychologist.

Advice from you gals (and guys) who love to style and pick clothes?

I would thnk about wearing knee length jean shorts, or regular jeans in the winter. Also, maybe short uggs. Also, you can wear a logo t shirt( that ranges from abercrombie to a sporty side. ) The first link is a jean idea, the second link is a shirt idea, and ashoe idea on the third link. This would make a very nice outfit!!!!!!!!!

Does marijuana make you smarter?

I wouldn't necessarily say that the marijuana is boosting certain mental aspects, but I would say that once you get into the swing of things and start to really enjoy the high and it can improve your quality of life. I always think more critically when I'm high, I am way more social now, and it's helped me come to terms with certain things. If you're really looking to open your mind, try LSD. It's certainly helped me view the world in a better, more analytical way.

I do miss it because of the freedom that it offered with your profile page such as being able to customize not only your background but practically anything on your page the way you wanted to. I also miss the options it had for music on your profile. Myspace taught me how to do html mainly. The only reason I left it was really because all of my friends left it.

I am ready to admit i am a control freak. How do i transition?

I have the classic signs of being a control freak. I get frequent raises or bonuses at work, but yet i still need to control every situation. i recognize i need to stop. it is becoming an obsession. i seem to spend more time trying to stay ahead of a situation to have the immediate correct answer as to what to do. if someone else takes an order, and it doesnt go thru me as it should, i want nothing to do with it. yet my true talents are wasted, while i obsess with what isnt in my control. my husband died when i was 29 and we had 3 children. i believe that is when most of this began to spiral into place. he was the love of my life and that was a situation i could not control, now i feel i am trying to control everything else. i had to reinvent myself at this job and it was a small company that has grown. i can do any of the jobs there, and that is becoming dangerous knowledge, as we add more employees. i want to change to not chase them away, and grow as a person and surrender my control freak tendancies. i have been in therapy for several years, and maybe have just know peeled away to the core of my problem and all that it is affected. i continue to grieve, yet am in a relationship. 2 of the 3 children are grown and out of the house, i feel this is key to changing my ways so i can enjoy some of my life. i wish to let the weight of the world leave me so i can feel free and enjoy life and forget work when i am not there. at times i seem to make people feel bad and often apologize, but i am also worried about my health, i am overweight and over 40 now, if i just focused half as much on myself as i do others, i could be having the time of my life right now. please send any advise you may have. i will continue to develop towards losing my controlling ways in therapy as well.

What is RAD ballet? Can a beginner start it?

RAD is the (Royal academy of dance) ballet, they are quite intensive I say and require a lot of practice. However, it's really not that hard. You'd probably want to start somewhere around grade 3-4? as you have no background in ballet. I do ballet and now Im going to start RAD 7 in september. (I'm 14) But that is considered (higher level) starting from grade 6, its considered "higher level" so 3-4.You'll do fine!HOPE THIS WAS USEFUL!? :)

A serious high school runner who needs advice?

First off those times are pretty fast and making it to the national freshman mile is nothing to be upset about everyone has days were they won't be the best. Your coach is right to worry about injury but the bigger problem is burning out. I would say that adding 5 to 10 miles a year would be alright but do not forget about the long run. I'm guessing you are interested in college running so that is another 7 years of pounding on your legs. Putting in the miles on your slow recovery days is the most important thing to do in distance running and just listen to what your legs are telling you.

I would definitely consider dating a guy that doesn't drink or do drugs, I think using those things is absolutely gross! I keep away from those things because I have no interest in them either! I think that everyone is able to live life to its fullest without ever touching drugs or alcohol. I actually think that when a guy uses those things it is just a complete turn-off! Usually guys who drink a lot or use drugs have bad breath and show that they have no self-control whatsoever! I have always been rejected by my fellow peers and never had any true friends because of my lifestyle and it never bothered me, in fact I always felt smug about the fact that I knew I was making the right decisions and they were not! I'm glad that there's actually a guy out there that chooses not to use drugs or alcohol, since its rare. I've been pressured to do things that my peers did but I never listened to them, so don't let anyone pressure you to do anything that you don't want to do either! I have always been a very shy girl, yet that didn't mean people could pressure me into doing what they wanted me to do! I did what I wanted to do! So, yes if I knew you I would consider dating you! Make your own decisions and don't let anyone make you do anything you don't want to do! Now, if only there were more guys like you,then maybe I would actually date more guys! Ways to become a better cheerleader?

Okay. I have been doing recreational cheerleading since I was 5, 12 now turning 13 in november.We didnt really do like EXTREME stunts last year. During my 7 years i have had one coach for like 6 years and i had a different coach last year. Last year I got an award,everybody gets one, i gotone for being the best all around vetran cheerleader but last yaer our team really sucked and after being with a coach who i had 15 first places with it felt like somebody took a crap on my head haha. I can do cartwheels roundoffs summersaults(exuse the spelling) and thats pretty much it .I think I have okay jumps and i have been a flyer for 5 years and the other years i have been a base. Two years ago i could twist but last year i lost it when i wasnt a flyer.SO, ways to be better and do you think i will be a flyer next year, It will be my first year being in Varsity (haven't had my first practice yet) oh and i have an early birthday so everyone in my grade is basicly older than me and this year i had the choice to stay in JV because of my age or go to varsity because of my gradehope it wasnt too long thanks!

Dramamine causing tinnitus?

I'm really stupid for doing this in the first place... But my friends and I decided it would be a cool thing to try Dramamine. We each did 600mg. It wasn't fun...... The next day I noticed a ringing in my ears. I thought it was kind of weird, and put it off. It has now been 3 weeks and the ringing is still present. The doctor said there are no signs of infection or earwax on the inside of the ear (no scans have been done, just an examination). Could Dramamine possibly do this to me? If so, should I be worried that the ringing has persisted? It's really upsetting me and making it so I can't sleep... I just want it to go away. :\ please don't come in saying "using OTC drugs as a recreational drug is bad" because I already know. I have learned my lesson.. Thanks.

Friends, Growing Up, and Life?

I am starting Grade 10 in September and I began to think about what should I do to change. In past grades I used to be so social and more open but in grade 9 I reinvented myself cause I found out about cliques and friendships that never last, so I began to be less social and more to myself and "independent". In high school I actually acted like a child cause I was afraid of growing up; Losing the light I used to see, becoming to serious, and facing the pain of life (being a careless child seems more easy). Lastly my personality is very different from most of the people from high school, for one thing I actually smile (not many guys do), I act like I am grade 5-6, im not very athletic, and I am very vulnerable and open. People see me very approachable and nice, but I notice besides all these I feel like I can't keep up with the people in High School. like they are more darker and like in their own cliques. SO basically Im asking is. Should I change for grade 10? Should I be more shy and serious?Should I stay a child or become a teenager?And should I stop pushing people out of my life?

What type of bicycle should I purchase?

Hello all. I am willing to invest anywhere from 1300 to 1500 on a good bike. I will mainly be using it for recreational riding for long distances. 20 mile rides at least. Purely street. How long will a three days grace concert be?

Im going to a Three Days Grace concert in July at the Delaware State Fair. Its a 2 band show, with TDG and an opening act (the Trews). The ticket says the doors open at 6:30 with the show beginning at 7:30 .... so, what time will it be over? i want to be different because i feel like i'm sick of the way i am i don't feel like i'm being myself but i don't know what myself is, i feel constantly bored and lonely and i feel like my teenage years are slipping i wanna look and be different and more confident and social but i don't know when and how to change... i feel sick of the friends i have now but i feel like i have no other option and i wish i had a social life.

I am not a drug user in the slightest, and I never in my life intend to use PCP. Centuries ago when tobacco and alcohol was in the top drug on the market in the US, people never thought of the risks when using it for recreational use. Throughout the years the US Government had the power to regulate it the best way they can that doesn't violate Constitutional rights. We can't ban these substances though because of the companies constitutional rights. With cannabis and other drugs there were always illegal in the US for recreational use and it's going to stay that away as long as the medical science is there. There have been numerous research by scientists that tell that cannabis is dangerous just like any other drug and it should stay illegal when it comes to recreational use, also to prevent "mom and pop" businesses.

Is it any wonder the machines think our logic is flawed and we need to be exterminated?

we got past the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Holocaust/WWII and every other horrific event/war in history. We're still here. I think humans, despite the many ignorant ones, will continue on this planet for quite some time. Our species is strong; our intelligence grows with every generation, though it may not seem that way. The irrational thinking, illogical decisions and overall "dysfunction" will always be a part of our existence. But take a closer look at history and tell me we're not making progress.

We took the risks...put every waking moment into it and nearly starved to death for many years. Kept taking the risks and eventually it paid off for us. Success has little to do with luck but everything to do with hard work and putting yourself out there. We didn't take vacations or drive brand new cars or live in fancy houses but we kept people working, sent our kids to school and have lived an honest and satisfying life. There is no pension but in our senior years, we are finally financially comfortable and more importantly, respected for our work, both in our industry and in the community. Sure beats following someone else's rules..

I'm just really tired of who I am. Everyone labels me an 'emo' or 'goth', I'm unpopular, I hate majority of my classmates, I have perfect grades and sometimes I wonder if my life would be better if I let them slip. I know for a fact I want to change but I have no idea where to start. Even though this is a bit personal, it might help. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression. How To Reinvent Myself For A New School Year?

i used to be really shy too. what helped me was i forced myself to get out there and talk to as many people as i can! it sounds lame but this will help teach you how to start a decent conversation. i always got the same comment about looking pissed or sad too, so do the opposite. smile your *** off! even if you dont feel like it. smiling makes you seem more approachable and friendly and people are naturally attracted to that. i smile all the time now and people always tell me how "cute" or "sweet" i am. it sounds super cheesy but just do it. if you make an effort to talk to everyone they will find you approachable. even try to talk with the "preps" and "jocks". they arent as intimidating as you may think. i didnt realize that until after high school and i pretty much partied with a bunch of people that i thought was "better" than me and we all had a good time. just be more outgoing and that will take you where you want to be. :)

Why can angels go to hell, but demons can't go to heaven?

I'm larely agnostic, but this question confuses the heck out of me. Bare in mind that I really don't have much knowledge on this subject and am not trying to insult anyones faith or lack of. I just know that angels have fallen from God's grace and been sent to hell, so how is it that a demon cannot become good enough to go to heaven? Well it all started when my parents got divorced. Now my and my brothers live with my dad and they are always fighting with me cause I still can't get over the divorce. California lake speeding law?

We recently where pulled over at lake Perris for speeding in a supposedly no wake 5 mph zone with our wave-runner The area was previously not limited by speed and wasn't clear on the location of the speed limitation. The officer pulled us over and issued a ticket to us even though we asked him to let us off with a warning and that we wouldn't do it again and we didn't know because it was previously no speed limit and it wasn't posted well.
